Deeper processing for sensitive seekers
People who think and feel deeply, often have a processing style that means when learning, they need to 'know' things in a deeply felt way (as well as intellectually understood on a logical level) e.g. you may wonder things like 'Why is a triangle a triangle?' and 'Why is the number 3 so significant'?
For us in The IF Crowd, we delve in to what are known as 'mystery teachings' - kinds esoteric philosophy schools - that reveal the subtle, nuanced (aka sensitive) workings of life, the universe and everything at a metaphysical level.
It may have been something you hoped to find in regular science class or popular religion - but found these teaching to be too simplistic or /and without that deeper esoteric meaning you crave.
So here is a very little introduction to the wisdom of the Hermetic mystery school, looking at the 7 principles (from a text called 'The Kybalion', published in 1908). The subtleties and interplay of these ideas shed light on the deep processes and interconnection of everything.
We decode and apply the mysticism for real-world practical insight in to making shifts and progress from real-life challenges into reality changes. Essentially, this ancient wisdom is what informs depth psychology itself (dreams, archetypes, synchronnicity, sacred geometry and so on) - and is how manifestation, transformation and personal illumination can be tangibly realised.
An introduction to the 7 Hermetic Principles
Hermetic Principles - For Manifestation, Transformation and personal Illumination
This lesson is an introduction to Hermeticism and the 7 Hermetic Principles (or Laws), entailed in Hermetic Philosophy. It is often considered an esoteric tradition and underpins many modern magical systems including that laid out by the famous occultist group - The Golden Dawn.
If you squirmed just there, don't be put off hearing the words 'magic' or 'occult' - these words get misused and misaligned with scary films and dark deeds. They refer to esoteric, metaphysics as a practice. The term 'occult' just means 'occluded', hidden, not seen, 'mystery'... if you like. Esoteric is the opposite of exoteric. Exoteric simply means 'outwardly facing, general.
A quick handy recap of the 7 Principles... (remember, they all apply within each other too!):
1 - Mentalism
“THE ALL is MIND; The Universe is Mental.”The Kybalion
2 - Correspondence
“As above, so below; as below, so above.”
The Kybalion
3 - Vibration
“Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.” The Kybalion
4 – Polarity
“Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites’ like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.”
The Kybalion
5 - Rhythm
“Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall the pendulum swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.”
The Kybalion
6 - Cause and Effect
“Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according to Law; Chance is but a name for law not recognised; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the Law.”The Kybalion
7 – Gender
“Gender is in everything: everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles; Gender manifests on all planes.”
The Kybalion
